June 2003: RESUMPTION
OF INQUESTS The inquests into the26 deaths resulting from the Dublin Bombings of 17 May 1974 are listed before the Dublin City Coroner tomorrow. Friday, 20 June at 11.00 am at the Coroners Court, Store Street, Dublin.
Also listed is the inquest into the death of Thomas Croarkin, who died in a Dublin hospital from injuries sustained in the Monaghan Bombing of 17 May 1974.
The families of the victims will be gathering at our Family Support Centre, 64, Lower Gardiner Street from 10.00 am tomorrow and will walk together to the Coroners Court.
The purpose of the hearing is so that the Coroner can make arrangements for the resumption of the inquests that were adjourned in May 1974 and never concluded.
Two foreign nationals were killed in the Dublin bombings a French and Italian citizen and representatives of the French and Italian Embassies will be in attendance. Also present as an observer will be Mr. Cody K. McCone of ODwyer & Bernstien, Attorneys, New York. The firm represents a survivor of the bombings resident in U.S.A.
The families of the victims attach great significance to the formal resumption of these inquests.
